Paintworks Events Space Bristol wedding – Lucy and Dan
Lucy and Dan together run The Coffee Club Bristol (formally known as Imagine That) combining their love of coffee and live music. They sell coffee and snacks by day from a shipping container (formally a horse box) on Spike Island, and by night host gigs in Bristol’s independent venues. The entrepreneur couple kicked off my wedding season a year ago today with a Bristol banger of a wedding at Paintworks Events Space. Happy anniversary Lucy and Dan! I’ve loved reminiscing your epic day.

Bristol’s Hidden Gem- The Gothic Mansion
I was introduced to the most amazing accommodation the morning of Lucy and Dan’s wedding day. The couple, along with friends and family got ready at The Gothic Mansion, a fine Grade II listed former convent. The Gothic Mansion oozes character, charm and elegance, it’s an Aladdin's cave filled with fine antiques and original oil paintings, and just minutes down the road from Lucy and Dan’s wedding venue.
Paintworks Event Space, Bristol
One large industrial space, Paintworks Event Space, with it's exposed brick work, high ceilings and outside adjoining courtyards is stylish and effortlessly cool, and the perfect fit for Lucy and Dan's day to unfold. Moments before the ceremony I shot my first, ‘first Look”, where the couple emotionally greeted each other by the on site vintage airstream caravan in the Paintworks courtyard. A favourite moment for the couple (and me). Manifesting more magic “first looks” for my weddings this year.
The ceremony was held inside the theatre end of the main space which felt cosy and was beautifully decorated by the couple themselves. After a giggly ceremony, the celebrations kicked off and guests gathered outside in the large courtyard for confetti, canapés and some unexpected, but very welcomed, March sunshine.
Paintworks Event Space offers an amazing atmosphere for a wedding and there are so many spaces which gave me creative inspiration for photos, quirky industrial shapes, bright colours, areas to explore around the creative quarter, graffiti and even views of the city. Inside, the impressive reception space was filled with tables named with the couples favourite Bristol venues. Photos with family and friends hung along the brick walls and old records to be written on as their guest book. Effortlessly cool, the Paintworks Event Space is a blank canvas to make your own, and is perfect for couples that want a big party.
Dan got everyone singing and dancing with some karaoke, if you ask me, a must for every wedding! Of course the music was of great importance including a Bridesmaid hour and a Groomsmen hour on the decks, these guys certainly know how to party, it was so hard to leave.
