Capturing the early days of a newborn’s life is always a magical experience, but this session was particularly special. My dear friends, Sarah and Lee, recently welcomed their beautiful firstborn, Rosenwyn, into the world, and I had the joy of photographing their growing family.

A Surprise Early Arrival

Sarah and I had previously met for a cosy autumn coffee date in mid-November, where we took the opportunity to capture a mini maternity session. The golden leaves and crisp air created the perfect backdrop for some stunning bump photos. However, little did we know that Rosenwyn was eager to make her grand entrance—arriving more than a month earlier than expected!

Meeting Baby Rosenwyn in Their Warmley Home

Fast forward to a sunny February afternoon, and I finally had the pleasure of meeting Rosenwyn at their charming cottage in Warmley. The natural light pouring into their home was absolutely breathtaking, creating an idyllic setting for a newborn photoshoot. Rosenwyn, with her expressive eyes, contagious smiles, and playful little faces, made it nearly impossible for me to put my camera down.

A Touching Family Moment

During the session, Lee shared a heartwarming video of Rosenwyn being weighed at the hospital shortly after birth. This was an incredibly emotional moment for Sarah, who had not seen the video before. It was a touching reminder of why family photography is so meaningful—preserving these precious memories for years to come.

Personal Touches: Handmade Crafts and Sentimental Details

Adding even more warmth to the session were Sarah’s beautiful homemade crafts. From a lovingly crocheted blanket to a stunning Beauty and the Beast mobile hanging above Rosenwyn’s cot, every detail in their home was filled with love and sentimentality. The cot, in particular, was extra special—it once belonged to Sarah’s dad, making it a treasured keepsake for the next generation.

Looking Ahead: Watching Rosenwyn Grow

Capturing these moments for Sarah and Lee was a true joy, and I can't wait to see how much Rosenwyn has grown in the coming months. These early days are fleeting, and documenting them is such a privilege.
