The passionate, entrepreneur couple combined their love of caffeine and music and opened Coffee Club Bristol (formally Imagine That) in a shipping container (formally a horse box) on Spike Island

🥐 They sell coffee and snacks by day, and by night host gigs in Bristol’s independent venues 🎶

You can also find them at Paintworks in Arnos Vale

Bristol’s Hidden Gem Hotel: The Gothic Mansion

I was introduced to the most amazing Bristol accommodation the morning of Lucy and Dan’s wedding.

The couple got ready with friends and family at The Gothic Mansion, a spectacular Grade II listed former convent

This magnificent building oozes character and elegance – it’s treasure trove filled with fine antiques and original oil paintings, and is just minutes down the road from Paintworks.

Ceremony Highlights at Paintworks

Paintworks Event Space is a large industrial space that still manages to feel warm and welcoming, with exposed brickwork, high ceilings and adjoining courtyards outside.

It's stylish and effortlessly cool – the perfect fit for Lucy and Dan!

After getting ready separately at The Gothic Mansion, the couple were reunited just moments before the ceremony – just enough time for a pre-wedding embrace in Paintworks' large courtyard to calm the nerves.

First looks are always a magical moment, but this was one of my favourites 🤍

The ceremony was held inside the theatre end of the main space, which felt, cosy and was beautifully decorated by the couple themselves.

After a giggly ceremony, the celebrations kicked off and guests gathered outside in the large courtyard for confetti, canapés and some unexpected (but very welcome!) March sunshine ☀️

Reception and Celebrations 🎉

Paintworks event space has an amazing atmosphere for a wedding and there are so many spaces which inspire creative photos …

Quirky industrial shapes, bright colours, the creative quarter to explore, graffiti and even views of the city.

The impressive reception space was filled with tables named after the couples’ favourite Bristol venues.

The exposed brick walls were covered in photos of the couple with family & friends, with old records being used as a guest book!

Effortlessly cool, the Paintworks Event Space is a blank canvas with plenty of character, and it’s perfect for couples that want a big party.

Lucy & Dan had separate bridesmaid and groomsmen hours on the decks – these guys know how to have fun, it was so hard to leave!
